Are you facing authentication issues in your teams and Azure directory due to an unwanted external Azure directory you were invited to?
You might be facing issues in removing this organization because it appears that you don’t have the necessary access permissions from Microsoft Entra ID manage tenant options.
When attempting to remove an unwanted external tenant from my directory list,
I encounter the following error:
Let’s take a look how can we solve the problem and leave the external organisation permanently .
Step 1 : Go to Azure Portal and log in with your credentials.
Step 2:
- Switch to the external directory:
- In the Azure portal, click on your account profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Under “Directory + Subscription,” select the external directory you want to leave.
Step 3:
- Go to the My Apps portal:
- Open a new tab and go to the My Apps portal.
- Sign in if prompted.
- Make sure you are switched to the directory which you want to leave.
Step 4:
- Leave the organization:
- In the My Apps portal, click on your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- Click on “Organizations” on the left sidebar.
- Find the organization you want to leave and click “Leave organization.”
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Step 5 :
- Verify removal:
- Return to the Azure portal.
- Check if the external directory is no longer listed under your directories.
